  The greatest deck of cards..... ever. December 6, 2006 Well, wow! The Tally-Ho Viper deck is just incredible! They have a UV-500 Airflow finish which is smooth and buttery. These cards do not clump up AT ALL!!! They are thick and make for awesome fanning. Let me say, I am certainly no master at XCM, but this deck is the closest I have come to looking like one. I have the Masters, Ghost, and Black Tiger decks, and nothing comes close to the phonomenal feel that these cards have. Oh yeah, on a side note, these are the sexiest looking cards I have ever seen. The circle backs (which I prefer) have faces of red and silver, while the Fan backs are just silver. If somebody put a gun to my head and said, "What is the one downside of the Tally-Ho Viper deck?" I would have to say that for somebody not familiar, this could look like a gaffed deck. If someone asks, I say "These are normal cards, just special edition" and give them the deck to inspect. These sleek, beautiful, playing cards are a fantastic buy at 7.99, wheter you do slight of hand, XCM, or just playing games, get these cards now!
  The Bees got eaten by a Viper December 5, 2006 Being the cheap person that I am I have gone to multiple dollar stores in search of various decks to whet my palate. I would handle the used Bees Casino cards and although I would be satisfied with the feel I was always dissatisfied with the look. Bees HAD always been my favorite deck to handle. They are sturdy, strong, resistant, any other synonym for durable. They fanned like a dream and would last me a good week or two with consistent mucking, shuffling use but they didn't have the look. The deck did not have that "sexiness" that would match me. I felt like a movie star driving an old, beat up Volkswagen whenever I handled those Bees. I COULD go with a nice looking deck but then I would sacrifice the feel, the ease of manipulation the Bees had. I decided to stick with the Bees. I rather have a great set of cards that worked well in Magic, poker and card manipulation than a "sexy" deck that fanned like sandpaper. Then Christmas happened and Ellusionist had one of the greatest deals ever. They offered all three of their exclusive decks (Black Tiger Deck, Ghost Deck and Tally Ho Vipers) for a steal. I do not know the exact price but it was LOW and it was incredible. They should do that more often =). Any who, I digress, I received all three decks but the one that became "old reliable" was the Tally-Ho Viper Deck. As soon as I pulled the deck out of the box I was in LOVE. I could not touch any other deck of cards. I couldn't let anyone else touch my cards. To quote Gollum they were "my precious." Whenever I would pull them out in public I got stares, pulling off the Werm with this deck was an absolute beauty. This deck was sexy. This deck was for me. It suited me. It matched my style. They were everywhere I went. It was like I grew another body part and it was a beautiful Black deck.
The Design of the deck is classic in all sense but the black color adds a level of modernity to the deck. It's like painting a 1965 Mustang a glossy Metallic black with Chrome accents. Beautifully shiny and eye-catching. You will definitely get stares from anyone whenever you pull this deck out. The silver of the Ace of Spades calls out for attention. I seriously considered having the ace tattooed on my forearm (A magician should always have an ace up their sleeve). This was my second ever Tally Ho deck so I knew I would receive a deck of immense quality. "Immense quality" is an understatement. I have had this deck since last Christmas and it is STILL my number one deck to handle. It has gone through my 2 year old niece throwing them everywhere, being lost in my sisters' car (where kids are always present), thrown around and dropped several times by yours truly and it still spreads like butter.. Pulling off sleights was a thing of beauty with this deck. For some reason it was easier to make certain sleights seem more natural with this deck. The stock is incredibly thick which really does help with the sleights. It is a wonderful deck. I CANNOT recommend this deck enough for MAGICIANS or XCMers. For everyone else, I don't think you would want other people touching this deck! If you enjoy regular Tally Hos, then the Vipers would be your Playing Card Deck God.

  //Inject Venom November 29, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The most lethal poison known to man is found on the Golden Poison Frog, otherwise known as the Phyllobates terribilis. One and a half inches long, and one milligram of its poison is deadly enough to kill 10,000 mice, and around 10-20 humans.
Imagine having that potency in your magic.
Imagine being so deadly and lethal to "The Ordinary," that you are literally a walking weapon.
The black ink on these cards reflects that of the Tigers, but what makes the Fan-Back Vipers unique, is their quality and charisma.
You'll want to treat them like porcelain when you unleash their potency. My audience loves them, and when I'm performing, or flourishing...the feel that it gives the performance is breathtaking.
I pick them up to give them some twirling and spinning, and the only way I can describe them is that it looks like metal gears shifting and cranking in different directions. The cards almost resemble blades as they cut through the air, slicing the barrier between mediocre and perfection.
With proper presentation and a competent style, these will give your magic a style of mystery and charisma. Don't be fooled, the Vipers are not gothic, but rather classical. Not a B.C. Warlock guitar, but a black, sleek, grand piano...waiting for your fingers to make melodies that captivate your audience into an alluring world of dreams...or nightmares.
The Tally-ho Viper, Fan-Back Edition are among my favorite instruments to play. My name is Sean Beard, I'm a working magician, and I recommend the Vipers.

  A Card Manipulator's Dream November 29, 2006 I have only been into XCM (Extreme Card Manipulation) for about three months, and I've learned over this time that Tally-Ho playing cards are the way to go when performing flourishes. Not only do they hold together better than most other brands of cards, their feel and stock are very nice. I finally felt I was ready to move on and purchase the Tally-Ho Vipers, and I have never laid eyes on a more beautiful deck of cards in my life.
// THE LOOK
I'm going to make this short and sweet. The Tally-Ho Vipers look incredible. If you perform any type of flourishes or are into XCM, this deck will raise your performance to an entirely new level. Imagine performing with these pieces of gold.
// THE FEEL AND HOLD
Fanning a deck of Tally-Ho Vipers is like sliding a piping hot knife through a soft stick of butter. The process is smooth and executes so nicely. While the cards are smooth and easy to fan, they hold together very well. These cards are ideal for XCM.
// THE REST
The stock of these cards is among the best I've felt. The cards are crafted so well, I'm sure a deck of Vipers will last you months. If you've been looking for the perfect deck of cards to buy for performing flourishes, XCM, or are simply looking for a new deck to perform magic with, give the Tally-Ho Vipers a shot. Take it from an owner's perspective -- these cards are what card control is all about.
  Viper Fan-Back Deck ~ I'm a fan! November 29, 2006 Like opening any 'reversed' deck, opening the Viper drew a GASP...the cards are familiar, but look so different!
These cards have everything that a regular Tally-Ho deck has, but they also have CLASS! This isn't pale-gray ink, it is SILVER ink! The cards are smooth and literally glimmer under the light. It's as if the silver ink were floating in a deep ocean of black ink. The pictures can't accurately depict the cards.
I prefer the all-silver Fan-Back decks to the decks with red-pipped Circle Backs, specifically for their fanning appeal. It's nice to see a red card sandwiched between two silver cards throughout the deck, but that rarely happens during a performance. You'll end up with a few red cards, followed by 8 or 9 black cards, followed by 1 red card...hardly appealing. The all-silver pipped cards are great because no matter what order the deck is in it'll yield a clean and balanced fan.
The Airflow finish on these puppies is fantastic. The best way to describe it without feeling a deck in your hands is as a combination of slippery brand-new Bicycle cards and a heaping spoonful of fanning powder. The cards fan like they're straight-from-the-box (even when they're not!), but stick together so that you can focus on performing your magic...not on picking cards up off the ground.
I'm a fan of the Viper decks over other specialty decks because while the card stock is thick and long-lasting, it's flexible enough to hold in a palm effortlessly. I've palmed with other decks and it's like I'm trying to keep an angry raccoon trapped in my hand. The Vipers palm so easily it's like they're not even there! After the palm is completed, the cards straighten out quickly after returning to the deck...almost like MAGIC!
